Biography

Colin McInnes is currently Head of Vaccines and Diagnostics at Moredun. Colin moved to Moredun over 20 years ago from Glasgow University where he had obtained his PhD. He joined a group working to develop techniques and reagents to study the ovine immune response to infection. In 2003 he became a principal research scientist at Moredun specialising in parapoxvirus infections of ruminants and wildlife. His group was the first to characterise the poxvirus responsible for the deaths of red squirrels, a major contributory factor in their decline within the UK.
