Advances in medical science have been responsible for containing infectious diseases like cholera, malaria, polio, small pox etc. It has been one of the biggest factors responsible for increasing the life expectancy. Today, complicated procedures such as heart transplants, brain surgeries, in vitro fertilization, artificial limbs, and CRISPR-based gene editing in embryos, are all possible due to the huge strides being made in the field.
