Biology is an institute established in 1935 in Kolkata, west Bengal, India. Research is carried on biomedical stream. It was instrumental in producing and developing therapeutics and diagnosing solutions to various kinds of diseases. It is multidimensional R&D laboratory under CSIR of government of India. Institute carries out research in 7 different fields which include drug development, anti-cancer drug,
vaccines and various other formulations and solutions against different kinds of diseases. A quality research work was been carried out with good number of publications in reputed journals. Institute has inked various memorandums with national and international leading industries. Institute has a self instrumentation department where trails were carried out in developing small new instruments. Work on system
biology and circuits were also carried out. Library is well maintained with a good number of books and journals. Excellent computer division with a upgraded new technology was provided for the better output
