The Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is a university in India which came into existence by the Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2002. The university, named after Saint Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah, focuses on post graduate training and undertake research in fields such as management, environment, biodiversity, bio-technology, computer sciences, information technology, and applied mathematics.
Javed Musarrat is new vice chancellor of this university. It is one of the various universities in J&K which is run by the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah trust. The University is located in beautiful hills near Rajouri.
This University has helped the backward district of Rajouri to grow in educational terms. The University has mainly technical and science departments. Around half of the students are from the area only.
